From Seascapes to the Southwest &  Beyond

For a long time I have been painting subjects from the sea. Seascapes and Sea Mammals on surfboards, fins and panel. I love the Ocean and its awesome power and beauty. This is a scene from Venice. We visited Venice this last Summer,09, and it was everything I expected. My Wife, Max, is a great photographer and I get some great pictures to use for inspiration. She took a photo of a night time scene that I loved and decided to use that as a starting point.

This was one of the first paintings done on wood panel using water base stain as the background layers.
